The invention discloses a tri-wheel collinearity detection method for a chassis of a hydraulic excavator. The method comprises the following steps that a tool block is mounted at one side of a driving wheel; the central point of the driving wheel is obtained through dimension conversion; a plurality of tool blocks are respectively mounted on the thrust wheels; the central point of each thrust wheel is obtained through the dimension conversion of the tool blocks; a thin thread is drawn to the central point of the thrust wheel at the most front end from one end of the driving wheel; the offset of each thrust wheel between the driving wheel and the thrust wheel at the most front is recorded, so that whether the chassis assembly of the hydraulic excavator meets the design requirement of three-wheel collinearity or not is detected. As each tool block is designed according to the characteristics of the real driving wheel and the thrust wheels, the central points of the driving wheel and the thrust wheels can be rapidly determined, the requirement on the detection of the tri-wheel collinearity of the chassis of the hydraulic excavator is met, the eccentric abrasion of a crawler belt of the hydraulic excavator is prevented, the operation is simple, and the efficiency is high.
