Study of 21Na by 20Ne (p↘,p0) and 20Ne (p↘,p1)

Levels of 21Na in the excitation energy range 5.95‐9.95 MeV are studied by measuring elastic and inelastic scattering of 3.7‐7.9 MeV polarized protons from 20Ne. A phase shift analysis of the elastic scattering data thus far has yielded level parameters of sixteen states. Strong, almost completely elastic resonances having Jπ=3/2+ and 1/2+ are observed at Ep=4.2 and 5.1 MeV, respectively. These levels may correspond to 3/2+ and 1/2+ Nilsson components of the d3/2 and s1/2 spherical shell‐model states.
