An embodiment of the present invention relates to an analog correlation unit comprising a plurality of parallel correlation components that are configured to operate according to a more sophisticated switched capacitor low-pass filter principle, which increases the coding gain of the unit. Each correlation component comprises a sampling stage and a correlation stage. The sampling stage may comprise a switched capacitor that is configured to sample a received baseband signal to determine a value (for example, the polarity) of the baseband signal. The sampled baseband signal is fed to the correlation levels, which may include a plurality of switching integrators, respectively, that are configured to selectively receive the sampled baseband signal over time as a function of values (for example, the polarity) of the correlation code, and integrate to produce voltage potential values , The analog correlation result is evaluated by comparing an adjustable threshold voltage to the difference between the output voltage potential values.
