Chapter 4 – Genomic and Transcriptomic View of Amphioxus Immunity

In this chapter, we provide brief information about over 3000 immune-related genes in the amphioxus genome in terms of their composition, sequence similarities, domain architectures, and transcriptional regulation during immune responses. Our comprehensive analysis of these genes in the phylogenomic and transcriptomic context offers in-depth insights into the evolution of chordate immunity and origins of the adaptive immune system.
