Analysis on 14 cases of pigmentary demarcation lines in pregnancy

Objective:To investigate the incidence of pigmentary demarcation lines(PDLs) during pregnancy and analysis of etiology. Method:A total of 120 cases of pregnant women were studied for the existence and distribution of PDLs. Result:Fourteen(12%) patients had the type B PDL. Conclusion:The pigmentary demarcation lines in pregnancy appear to be related to the increased production of hormones and the compression of peripheral nerves by the enlarged uterus.
