The invention discloses a method and a device for realizing communication between single boards. The method comprises that: when constructing a message, a sending single board adds a priority processing sign into the message encapsulated with emergency information, preferentially sends the message into a management channel according to the sign and transmits the message to a receiving single board; and after receiving the message, the receiving single board preferentially resolves the message encapsulated with the emergency information according to the priority processing sign. Chips of master control boards are stacked and soft highways (HW) are established between the main control boards and service boards to simplify the structure of equipment, effectively transmit information, fulfill the aim of fast protection switching at the same time of saving side lines of a backboard and realize fastest information transmission and protection switching on links among the main control boards and between the main control boards and the service boards; therefore, the method and the device can improve the data communication capacity and protection capacity of the overall system under a simple system architecture.
