Green synthesis of CuO nanoparticles via Hyphaene thebaica extract and their optical properties

2020
Abstract This contribution reports for the first time, the bio-synthesis of nanoscaled Copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles via aqueous extract of Hyphaene thebaica as an effective chelating and capping agent. Their morphology and structural characterization of post annealing at 500 °C were confirmed by using X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD) with average size 25 nm, HR-TEM was carried out to study the morphology and shape of the nanoparticles, Electron Dispersion X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) spectrum confirmed the elemental single phase nature of pure CuO in addition to the FTIR spectroscopy, revealed the intrinsic characteristic peaks of Cu–O bond stretching vibrations. Raman spectroscopy investigations confirmed the formation of single phase Tenorite monoclinic CuO nanocrystals.
