ULTRA LARGE FIRE FIGHTING INSTALLATIONS IN NORTH SEA EMERGENCY SUPPORT

The paper describes briefly various design criteria for fire fighting vessels set forth by Det norske Veritas and other public agencies and the solution developed to comply with these requirements. One section is devoted to a theoretical study of movements of a supply vessel in various sea states to establish a set of monitor control parameters. Practical experience and recommendations are listed, and a summary of present and future developments are given.
