Expression Relationship of survivin and VEGF in Multiple myloma

Objective To investigate the expression of survivin and VEGF in Multiple myloma(MM) and their correlation.Methods The expression of survivin and VEGF in MM was observed with immunocytochemistry.Results The positive expression rates of survivin and VEGF in MM were 54.76% and 66.67%,respectively.Neither of them was expressed in normal bone marrow.The expression of survivin was related to disease course and β2-MG,unrelated to stage of disease.The expression of VEGF was related to β2-MG,but unrelated to disease course and stage.Expreression of survivin and VEGF is a positive correlation.The expression of Survivin and VEGF are positive correlation.Conclusion survivin and VEGF can be used as indicators for predicting prognosis of MM.survivin plays a role in pathogenesis and development of MM through different mechanism.It inhitibits apoptosis of tumor cells and plays a role in angiogenesis of tumor with VEGF as well.Therefore,expression of survivin and VEGF is significance of mechanism of angiogensis of MM.
