Metal-containing zeolite catalyst

a catalyst comprising the following ingredients is provided: a. a zeolite having an average crystal size of at least about 0.5 microns, with a CHA framework containing silicon and aluminum, and with a molar ratio of silica to alumina (SAR) from about 10 to about 25; and b. an extra-framework promoter metal (M), which is arranged in the zeolite material in the form of a free and / or exchanged metal, which is thereof is in the extra-framework promoter metal is copper, iron, and mixtures and in an atomic ratio of promoter metal to aluminum (M: Al) of about 0.10 to about 0.24, based on the framework aluminum is present, and optional c. at least about 1 wt .-% cerium in the zeolite, based on the total weight of the zeolite, wherein the cerium is present in a form selected from the exchanged cerium ions, monomeric ceria, oligomeric ceria, and combinations thereof, with the proviso that the oligomeric cerium oxide has a particle size of less than 5 microns.
