Liposculpture and lipectomy superficial to Scarpa's fascia

1996
The standard treatment of patients with type II abdominal contour deformities has been liposuction and miniabdominoplasty. This can leave a flattening or even a depression in the hypogastrium at the junction of the mons and superior flap. We present a technique of liposculpture and lipectomy superficial to Scarpa's fascia that prevents this deformity and may decrease the incidence of seromas following abdominal contour surgery.
