Effectiveness of personalized nutrition – the German experience

In the German study group of the European Food4Me study, personalized nutrition (PN) advice was more effective than generic advice. PN was delivered on 3 levels: based on (1) food intake data, (2) additionally phenotypic data, and (3) additionally genetic information. Indicators for changes towards healthier diets were among others reduced energy, fat and salt intake. As an add-on a linear-programming-based meal planning tool was developed for future application in PN.
