The need for management training by nurses registered for nursing administration.

: A need for management training by professional nurses was identified. The areas where management training was most needed were identifying problem areas and making decisions related to patient care, controlling supplies, conflict management, problem solving, budgeting and research. All levels of registered nurses experienced a need for management training. A need for a preceptor immediately after registration was clearly identified. Each nurse has the potential to grow professionally, provided she receives the necessary accompaniment and support in her working situation.
