Effects of combination of captopril with lovastatin on serum IL-6 in rats with Adriamycin-induced nephropathy

2008
Objective To investigate the effects of combination of captopril with lovastatin on serum IL-6 and its likely protective mechanism. Methods 150 male Sprague-Dawlay rats were chose. After being fed 2 weeks adaptively,18 rats were divided into normal group(A,n=18) randomly, the rest 132 for making model group. At the end of 2nd week,120 adriamycin-induced nephropathy rats were divided into four groups randomly:B for exprimental control group(n=30),C for captopril treated group(n=30),D for lovstatin treated group(n=30),and E for combination of captopril with lovastatin treated group(n=30).The rats were killed at the end of 2nd,4th,6th weekend, and the samples were stratified randomly(n=6).The collected urine and abdominal aorta blood were reserved in refrigerator at-20 ℃ to be detected. Results Combination of captopril with lovastatin was more effective on inhibiting secretion of IL-6 of adriamycin-induced nephropathy rats, lowing IL-6,CHOL,TG and elevating albumin in serum than captopril or lovastatin. Conclusion Combination of captopril with lovastatin is more effective on protecting the kidney of adriamycin-induced nephropathy rats.
