Acute Aortic Thrombosis in Antithrombin III Deficiency
1981
Two cases of acute aortic thrombosis, a previously unreported complication of antithrombin III deficiency, are reported. Both patients had abnormally low antithrombin III levels, which improved to normal levels with warfarin sodium therapy. The possibility of antithrombin III deficiency should be considered in young patients with acute arterial thrombosis. ( JAMA 1981;245:1759-1761)
