The Research on the treatment of wastewater from production of plastic abrasives by Fenton reagent

2010
The Fenton reagent was used for the treatment of high concentration organic wastewater from production of plastic abrasives. The effect of reaction time, pH value, dosage of H 2 O 2 , the mol ratio between H 2 O 2 and Fe 2+ , reaction temperature and adding ways of H 2 O 2 on COD removal efficiency was studied. The mechanism of the affecting factors was also analyzed. The optimal operational condition was determined as follows: At room temperature, the mass concentration of H 2 O 2 (30%) is 40mg/L and its adding way was batch feeding; the initial pH value of the wastewater was adjusted to 4.0, the mol ratio between H 2 O 2 and Fe 2+ , was 12∶1, and reaction time was 45min. Under the optimum operational condition, the COD removal efficiency reached 91.57%. So it is feasible to treat high concentration organic wastewater from production of plastic abrasives by Fenton reagent.
