Calculation of Electromagnetic Torque Variations in PMDC Motor

2007
The electromagnetic torque was calculated from the change of magnetic vector potentials at moving conductors of a DC motor with permanent magnets. The higher accuracy of field calculations was achieved by using the procedure with Gauss’ s points. Numerical operations which diminish the accuracy in the electromagnetic torque calculations were avoided. The momentary values of electromagnetic torque at motor rotation were calculated by using a new algorythm. The results were compared to those obtained by the Maxwell method and ordinary numerical procedure. They were in better accordance with measurements (current switching, vibration and noise) of a PMDC motor.
