Investigation of the desorption of organic liquids from the surface of coal
1982
A study of the desorption of organic solvents from various types of coal was presented. The coal samples (below 3 mm particle size) were dried in a desiccator at 110/sup 0/C at 0.02 and 0.1 MPa pressures. The desorption, measured by loss of weight, was determined as a function of time. The organic solvents tested were benzene, ethanol, chloroform, and trichloroethylene. Also, the residual quantities of organic solvents as a function of drying temperature was found for ethanol, benzene, hexane, acetone, and chloroform.
