El paciente experto en personas con trastorno mental grave: El grupo de iguales como factor de recuperación

In this paper the expert patient programis described as a therapeutic element withinthe various interventions made in the com-prehensive treatment of people with severemental disorder. It is a new program, sin-ce in our context we have no evidence thatthere are similar programs in mental health,and ambitious so involved intervene in an ambit of high complexity as is the ambit ofmental health for patients with severe men-tal illness. The ultimate goal of the programis to give voice to those affected in theirown treatment and self-care and co-respon-sibility with professionals. Already in thebeginning of the first phase of the programwe can observe and the value of sharing andbe listened by the peer group and by otherwho have gone the same disease processand in the time of recovery.
