Development of Aspheric Lenslet Array by Slow Tool Servo Machining

Abstract Due to the growing needs in the field of optoelectronic, photonics and telecommunication industries, various types of lenslet arrays are used for different applications. Fabrication and characterization of lenslet arrays is challenging task due to many process related complexities. Diamond turning is the mostly used process to develop the precision lenslet arrays. In the current work, the generation of aspheric lenslet array by using slow tool servo technique and its characterization with optical profilometer is discussed. Lenslet array of polymethylmethacrylate material is fabricated with good surface quality i.e. profile accuracy of 0.233µm and surface roughness of 14.2nm
