EXCITON-ACOUSTIC-PHONON SCATTERING IN (ZN, CD)SE/ZNSE QUANTUM WELLS : THE INFLUENCE OF QUANTUM CONFINEMENT
1999
The well-width dependence of the exciton\char21{}acoustic-phonon scattering rate in (Zn,Cd)Se/ZnSe quantum-well structures is measured using time-integrated femtosecond four-wave mixing at low temperatures, and calculated using a finite-depth quantum-well model. At fixed temperature the highest rates occur at those well widths for which the quantum confinement and the exciton binding energy are maximized.
