Fission Product Decay Heat Calculations for Thermal Neutron Fission of 235U

Precise information of the decay heat from fission products following times after a fission reaction is necessary for safety designs and operations of nuclear power reactors, fuel storage, transport flasks, and for spent fuel management and processing. In this study, an efficient computation procedure has been applied for exact calculation of the decay heat of fission products for times following a thermal neutron fission reaction of 235U.
