Turbinectomía parcial inferior. Seguimiento a largo plazo

2014
Background: Turbinectomy is an old surgical technique that is no longer used in most of the ENT departments, mainly due to reports about empty nose syndrome and transoperative bleeding. This leads us to use some other surgical procedures, most of them technology dependent. Objective: To demonstrate that complications of turbinectomy are similar to those expected with newer techniques. Material and method: A longitudinal, restrospective, observational and descriptive study was done reviewing the charts of 38 consecutive patients who underwent bilateral lower subtotal turbinectomy. We searched for complications of the technique, with following ranging from eight months to three years.
