The invention relates to a novel electronic cigarette, in particular to a solid smoke cartridge of the novel electronic cigarette. The solid smoke cartridge comprises a cylindrical casing and a top cap. A smoke forming substance is filled in the cylindrical casing; the lower end of the cylindrical casing is provided with a recess for being inserted with a heating rod; a plurality of air inlet holes are formed around the recess; the top cap closes the upper end of the cylindrical casing and provided with a plurality of smoke gas outlet holes. The smoke forming substance is a solid-state substance composed of, by mass, 20-80% of tobacco extract, 1-50% of heat-conducting material and 1-30% of adhesive. The solid smoke cartridge releases smoke gas; since heating elements are in indirect contact with a smoke forming base, users do not need to clean the heating elements and service lives of the heating elements are prolonged.
