Science and Technology Information Network Center, Thai National Information System: Development of Information Service Networking of Thailand

The Science and Technology Information Network Center (STINC) was established in 1986 under the Thai National Information System to collect and store data in the most efficient way for the benefit of developing countries. In 2016, there are 29 member organizations with a common goal in their activities. Bureau of Science and Technology Information (BSTI), Department of Science Service, Ministry of Science and Technology serves as a center coordinator between STINC members. STINC members are from various libraries, academic organizations, leading university, information centers and knowledge centers. The main objectives of the network are; - providing access to all users - providing information for active use, most convenient and best value - sharing resources - preserving scarce resources STINC has been improved and developed to response the members and user needs continuously by utilizing the information technology and increases benefits between the members for each year. Nowadays, STINC strengthen members as BSTI on various academic services including utilizing the modern technology information, sharing on members' knowledge and information, sharing on best practices information service, etc.
