PAINFUL MUSCULOSKELETAL SYMPTOMS AND ERGONOMIC RISK IN UPPER LIMBS, IN WORKERS OF A COMPANY OF COSMETICS

Introduction: Importance infer musculoskeletal pain symptoms and ergonomic risk in upper limb, in the area of packaging and packaging in a cosmetics company in the city of Santiago de Cali, where he has been submitting reports absenteeism. The objectiveof this study was to describe the painful musculoskeletal symptoms and ergonomic risk in upper limb, workers in the area of packaging and packaging in a cosmetics company in the city of Santiago de Cali in the first half of 2014. Methodology: A descriptive quantitative study has sampling frame for convenience, 63 workers. Results: 92.1% of the population are women. In the packaging area is the number of workers with 34.9% less. The average length of service for operators of packaging area was 3.5 years; while the area for the operators conditioning was 1.4 years. The painful symptoms were representative operators in the area of packaging for hand / wrist 69.8% of respondents. It was found that the conditioning area is the most affected by exposure to ergonomic risk factor, leading to a possibly dangerous situation for most operators. Conclusions: musculoskeletal pain symptoms most representative upper limb is for hand / wrist, plus a possibly dangerous situation regarding the ergonomic risk is identified, stating that musculoskeletal demands have strong impact on the symptoms of operators.
