Treatmeat Study of Recombinant Antibacterial Peptide CecropinB for Artificial Infected Chickens with Escherichia coli

2011
In order to test the effect of hybrid antimicrobial peptide cecropinB on E.coli infected chicken,120 one-day-age chickens were separated into six groups at random. In the treating experiment, the chickens treated with different concentration recombinant antibacterial peptide cecropinB by injection, oral administration after 24 h of E.coli infection with the dosage of MLD100.This treatment was lasted five days. The results showed that the recombinant antibacterial peptide cecropinB had preferable bioactivity in vivo. The effect of oral treatment with high dosage(0.75 mL)cecropinB was optimal and the cure rate was 80%.The cure rate of oral treatment with middle dosage(0.5 mL)was 70%,which was the same as intramuscular injection with high dosage. The cure rates of intramuscular injection with middle dosage and ciprofloxacin were 60%.The effect of treatment with low dosage cecropinB was lower than that of others. The death rates of treatments with antibacterial peptide cecropinB and ciprofloxacin degraded obviously than that of the control group.
