The treatment method and the matters needing attention for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome complicating by simplex respiratory alkalosis

2017
Objective To investigate the treatment method and the matters needing attention for patients with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) complicating by simplex respiratory alkalosis, and briefly discuss the clinical significance of blood gas analysis in OHSS patients. Methods Severe OHSS patients in our hospital from January 2016 to September 2016 underwent arterial blood gas analysis immediately after admission, there were 50 patients complicating by simplex respiratory alkalosis, the patients were given oxygen mask and chest or abdominal puncture, underwent arterial blood gas analysis again 6 h later, respiratory frequency, pH, PaCO2 were compared. Results After oxygen and puncture and other symptomatic treatment, dyspnea, abdominal discomfort, and other symptoms of patients improved significantly, the respiratory frequency slowed down, the pH value decreased, PaCO2 increased, with statistically significant differences before and after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion The patients with OHSS complicating by simplex respiratory alkalosis should be treated as early as possible, such as oxygen inhalation, puncture, and other symptomatic treatment. OHSS patients should undergo routine blood gas analysis after admission. Key words: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome; Simplex respiratory alkalosis; Blood gas analysis; Matters needing attention
