Integrating triangular fuzzy numbers & grey relational theory to evaluate brownfield redevelopment projects

2017
A multilevel evaluation model integrating Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFNs), Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) was Proposed to evaluate Brownfield Redevelopment Projects (BRPs). Three schemes were proposed including 1: Housing Society, 2: Industrial Park 3: Commercial Development. Initially, primary indicators were identified through extensive literature review and Delphi method. Different linguistic scales were used to get expert opinions. In the first step, fuzzy index was converted to corresponding TFNs to determine the comparative sequence. At the second step, reference sequence was determined by following the principle of comparability. At third, index was converted into non-dimensionlize for easily comparison and comprehensive evaluation. At step 4, fuzzy Grey correlation coefficient was calculated with the help of comparative sequence and reference sequence. At step 5, using AHP, index weights were obtained which combines with grey correlation coefficient and leads to calculate overall fuzzy correlation degree for each alternative. Finally, The best alternative was chosen by adopting the sorting method of TFNs. It leads us towards making a decision, chossing the best alternative among all alternatives for redevelopment planning.
