Aspects of authentic assessment instruments refer to conformity of KI KD with the indicators. This research aims at researching the implementation of authentic assessment concerning the competency for both normal children and children of special needs (tunagrahita) . It also aims at recommendingwhich instruments can be used. This research is considered to be a case study research that is qualitative in nature. All aspects relating to the case are analyzed on a deeper level, so the conclusion reached can be integrated and meant to find solutions for the problems faced in the field.The data of this research are taken from textbook, RPP, RPPI, and depending on the results of observation for the learning process until the assessment is done.Based on the results of research that has been done, the implementation of authentic assessment of speaking competence is not yet in conformity with the principle of authentic assessment.The assessment instruments used does not cover the aspects required in the competency. In addition to that, the written test evaluation techniques that are used within the process of evaluation dominate when compared to the main aspects and the use of evaluation process does not match the demands of KD. Within the evaluation process for tunagrahita children, the instruments used should be the same as the ones used for other students but with material modification.Recommendations given here are based on the demands of KD. Considering the aspects needed for KD ,classifying scoring aspects are based on KD and on performing the same evaluation process for all students.The selection of appropriate instruments will affect the outcome of the learning process.
