Ten healthy volunteers were studied to test the effect of a meat meal on the circadian rhythm of urinary proteins. All subjects were kept at bed-rest during the whole 24-h evaluation period. An oral protein load was given at supper-time (19.00 hours). Urinary and serum samples were collected every 3 h and examined for total protein, albumin, retinol-binding protein, and creatinine
