Parámetros genéticos para producción de leche en ganado Simmental mediante modelos genómicos y poligénicos

2019
The aim of this study was to estimate genetic parameters including or not genomic relationship for cumulative milk production at 60 (MP60), 150 (MP150), 210 (MP210) and 305 (MP305) days in Simmental cattle in Colombia. A total of 2883 test-day records from 620 cows in the first lactation were used. The genomic information was obtained from 718 animals genotyped with a commercial chip of 30,106 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Univariate and bivariate models were used under the conventional best linear unbiased predictor (BLUP) and the single step genomic BLUP (ssGBLUP) methodologies. The heritability estimates values for MP60, MP150, MP210 and MP305 ranged from 0.20 to 0.27, from 0.25 to 0.52, from 0.30 to 0.35 and from 0.20 to 0.23, respectively. The use of genomic relationship did not increase the heritabilities and the accuracy of estimates for milk traits. The lack of phenotypic records and the low genetic connectivity by pedigree between genotyped and ungenotyped animals could limit genetic analyses using ssGBLUP in Colombian Simmental cattle.
