Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis fingerprinting of Yersinia pestis in Yunnan

Objective: To study the gene type of Yersinia pestis strains obtained from various natural foci and ecotype in Yunnan.Methods: Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis(PFGE) was used.Results: 1.The Yersinia pestis strains in Yunnan can be divided into 5 types,and 2 strips(680kb and 330kb) occur in all strains.2.A majority of house rat plague strains have the same fingerprinting map.3.There is difference in PFGE fingerprinting map between house rat plague strains and wild rat plague strains inYunnan.Conclusions: PFGE can be used to study molecular epidemiology in Yersinia pestis strains in Yunnan.
