Optimization of communication capacity for load control considering shared risk link group in source-grid-load system

2020
Abstract In the context of energy wide-area transmission and large-scale access of distributed renewable energy, to improve the elasticity of the grid, Jiangsu Province has established a source-grid-load system (SGLS), which can optimize the dispatching of power supply, power grid, and power load jointly. This paper focuses on optimizing the communication capacity for load control consider shared risk link group (SRLG) failure in SGLS. We propose a multicast routing algorithm to provide working communication paths for staged load control by organizing the load control terminals in the same stage into a multicast group. Next, we design a protection algorithm by modeling SRLG based on p-cycle technique to provide backup communication paths for load control. Then we present a joint optimization algorithm of multicast routing and protection (JOMRP) based on mixed integer linear program (MILP) to improve the resource utilization rate of the communication for load control. Finally, we simulate in electric power communication network topology of Jiangsu Province. Simulations demonstrate the proposed algorithm can promote the utilization rate of the communication links for load control when SRLG failure occurs.
