Wave breaking for a generalized periodic two-component Hunter-Saxton equation with weak dissipation

In this paper we study a generalized periodic two-component Hunter-Saxton system with weak dissipation. We show that this new system can exhibit the wave-breaking phenomenon. We also determine the exact blow-up rate of such solutions.
