SEATTLE ATMS: A MULTIJURISDICTIONAL INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR TRAFFIC

1995
The Seattle Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) is a multijurisdictional information sharing and control system being developed in the Seattle, Washington, area. The paper outlines the multiple cities and transit and state control systems that form the ATMS. These include: the cities of Seattle, Lynwood, Everett, Marysville, Edmonds, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, and Bothell; regions of King and Snohomish counties; and metro, community and Everett transit systems; as well as the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) control systems and several other intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects, which will use the Seattle ATMS data.
