Theories and experiences of health service quality management in Australia

Health service quality is a component of system performance, as Australian perspective. Implementing clinical governance, Australian managers have accountability of quality and safety. Government plays important roles on quality improvement as establishing administrative and research institutions, implementing audit, quality standards and evaluation projects. Hospitals have set up strategic management plans ensuring quality and safety improvement. Patients and community have actively involved in this process. In this article, authors focused on health service quality concept, management experience and regulatory practice in Australia, followed by a discussion on how those lessons meaningful for China practice.
