Design of microstrip patch antenna for Ka-band (26.5–40 GHz) applications

2021
Abstract A simple microstrip patch antenna power fed with microstrip feeding for Ka band (26.5–40 GHz) application is proposed. This work is meaningful for next generation network applications at 29.87 GHz and 39.02 GHz. It is designed by using Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 (tm) substrate, with dielectric loss tangent 0.0009, relative permittivity 2.2 and height 0.79 mm. The simulation is done using Ansoft HFSS. The radiation performance such as S11, VSWR, Gain, Radiation Efficiency, Radiation Patterns and Surface Current Distributions are observed.
