Coraçõezinhos de Baependi na educação em saúde através da metodologia participativa: Relato de experiência

This article is the result of the Outreach Project “Coracoezinhos de Baependi” developed in partnership between UFJF and InCor / HC- FMUSP in the city of Baependi (MG). The project is based on participatory methodology in order to build comprehensive teaching, using puppet shows and music as tools. It aims at promoting the health of the children involved and hopes to awaken their interest in science and research by promoting the search for knowledge and encouraging self-care. At the end of the workshops, it was possible to observe an increase in students´ participation, interest and understanding of the issues, as reported by teachers and parents. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that the introduction of knowledge about health during childhood proved to be effective in the promotion of self-care and prevention of morbidity, which reinforces the role of schools as suitable contexts for the spread of health concepts.
