Influence of V content on structure and hydrogen desorption performance of TiCrV-based hydrogen storage alloys

2005
Abstract The influence of V content on structure and hydrogen desorption performance of TiCr 1.8− X V X alloys were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), pressure composition temperature (PCT) and thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry (TG–DSC) tests. XRD tests showed that the crystal cell volume of both the as-cast and hydrogenated alloys increased with increasing V content. At the same time, however, their hydrogen desorption content first increased and then decreased. Hydrogen desorption tests showed that alloy TiCr 1.0 V 0.8 had the highest hydrogen desorption content among all the investigated alloys.
