Appraisal of the tensile strength of PA12 samples by a fused deposition modelling process by varying infill densities

2021
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing technology that allows for the cost-effective, quick, and easy production of specimens with precise dimensions. The main goal of our proposed work is to compare the mechanical properties of different infill densities of polyamide 12 processed via FDM in rectilinear structure. The specimens are printed using the FDM process with varying infill percentages for rectilinear structures of 50%, 75%, and 100%. The exploratory results have been used for testing such as tensile strength and yield strength. The main influenced process effect of infill density shows that 100 percent infill rectilinear structure gives better strength than 50 percent and 75 percent infill rectilinear structure in FDM process. It is suitable for future engineering applications in the development of various parts.
