Land to the East of 37 and to the Rear of 27-37 Romsey Terrace, Cambridge

2018
Between 26th and 27th of March 2018, Oxford Archaeology East (OA East)conducted an archaeological evaluation at land to the east of no 37 and to the rear of 27-37 Romsey Terrace, Cambridge (centred TL 4682 5747, Fig. 1). A single evaluation trench was excavated. The evaluation uncovered a number of modern features cut into made ground overlying the natural geology including two post holes and two ditches. A possible pit and a tree throw were revealed beneath the made ground. These features all contained finds dated to post-medieval and modern periods. The north-western half of the Trench was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.
