Скрытые формы сифилиса в Ставропольском крае

A feature of current syphilis epidemic in 1997 2000 is the increase of latent forms of syphilis in Russia as a whole and in Stavropol Region. The aim of this study is to investigate the dynamics of the absolute number of patients with latent syphilis forms for the six-year period and the development of measures for detecting them. The study analysis of syphilis clinical forms in 5273 patients over the period 2005 2010 has showed an increase in the share of early latent forms of syphilis by 14.8%, undifferentiated and late in 2 times (from 7.2% to 15.1%). Hidden forms of syphilis are the reservoir of neurosyphilis, so this category of patients is in need of lumbar puncture and cerebrospinal fluid studies to determine the protein level, the amount of formed elements, setting the non-treponemal test. The active detection of latent forms of syphilis in hospitals of neurological, psychiatric, therapeutic profiles, as well as examination of these patients with the use of modern expensive methods are necessary, without which it is impossible to establish the diagnosis of cerebral syphilis, cardiovascular system and visceral organs. Measures to identify hidden forms of syphilis and tactics to examine this category of persons in order to exclude neurosyphilis are developed.
