Well-Being and Quality of Life as Resources for Teaching Sociology

This chapter examines ways in which well-being and quality of life can be used as pedagogical concepts for teaching sociology. The chapter provides an overview of key philosophical traditions in quality of life research as a way of introducing some foundational sociological theories and ways of undertaking social research. Key approaches to researching quality of life are canvassed, which are related to different epistemological approaches in social science research.
