Features of Phase Transitions in Ferroelastic Thin Plates

2013
In the framework of the Ginzburg-Landau thermodynamic theory the dependence of the phase transition temperature of the ferroelastic plate on its thickness is found at consideration of non-linear effects and gradient members in expansion of the free energy in series. It is shown that changes in sample shape are essential for the ferroelastic phase transition.
