The present invention is a method for manufacturing a solar cell, the method comprising: a step for forming recesses and protrusions on both main surfaces of a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type; a step for forming a base layer on a first main surface of the semiconductor substrate; a step for forming a diffusion mask on the base layer; a step for removing the diffusion mask in a pattern shape; a step for forming an emitter layer on locations on the first main surface where the diffusion mask has been removed; a step for removing the remaining diffusion mask; a step for forming a dielectric film on the first main surface; a step for forming a base electrode on the base layer; and a step for forming an emitter electrode on the emitter layer. Due to this configuration, a manufacturing method for a solar cell having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency is provided, the method having a reduced number of steps.
