Comparative study on mechanical properties of the Thermoplastic Materials and Self-Curing Resin

2018
Objective The paper compares the mechanical properties of the thermoplastic materials and self-curing resin, and provides reference for choosing the more suitable material instead of self-curing resin to make the base plate of the Buccal Multiloop removable appliance. Methods At room temperature of 25 ℃, we choose 3 mm hot film diaphragm and 3 mm self-curing resin each 10, to measure and compare the mechanical properties, using the universal tensile force measuring machine, and to observe the morphology of fracture surface under the electron microscope. Results The elastic and ductility of the thermoplastic materials results satisfied. Conclusions It is considered that this type of the thermoplastic materials could be used to replace the self-curing resin mandible.
