Rigid leaded regenerator matrix for small closed-cycle refrigerators

Abstract The manufacture and application of a composite lead/bronze matrix for thermal regenerators is described. The thermal and physical properties of the matrix are compared with conventional packings. The retrospective fitting of this material in existing cryorefrigerators to improve performance is discussed.
