Propuesta y evaluación de un programa de intervención en educación emocional para disminuir los niveles de ansiedad en alumnado de 3º de Educación Primaria

One of the main purpose in education is getting a entire development, valueting the
academics competences and physiological, social and personal welfare in the same way.
Along these lines, we have to teach students to get strategies for emotional control since
early age. The current society teach us the fear of losing time, the obsession for filling
our schedule and the need to be competitive and productive, producing an anxiety and
stress burden on us. Anxiety is defined as a emotional reaction that we feel when we
perceive a dangerous or threatening situation and it causes us to present cognitive,
physiological and behavioral symptoms, which can become pathological if we don't
control it correctly. The present work tries to evaluate the anxiety levels in third grade
primary classrooms in two schools from Huesca, with a sample of 82 students who are
between 8 and 10 years old. After the first evaluation, a programme based on emotional
education had been carried out in one of each school's classroom (experimental group),
which it's going to let students get strategies for emotional control in order to decrease
the anxiety levels. Afterwards, the anxiety levels had been evaluated again in all the
groups, finding significant improvements in post test anxiety levels in the group who
had been intervened in emotional education. At last, it had been analysed if there are
some differences in the anxiety levels depending on sex or the schools where students
are educated, although these variables didn´t show significant differences.
