The article explores the strategies of historicizing the immediate past in Italian sky series ,1992‘. Like in documentaries, the fictional series draws authenticity from contemporary witnesses, original scenes and original material. On the level of narration, the series follows the tradition of history series in personalizing, dramatizing and emotionalizing the story. But at the same time it distinguishes itself from Italian history programmes by staging other issues and other times in a different mode of serialization.
